Re: The Football thread

i bet kevins got a mother of all hangovers today well done saints!!

couldnt sleep last night and tuned in to the game. couldnt and still dont understand a game that lasts for over 4 hours smile

but if its what floats your boat all well and good !!

on a personal note id just like to add how well crystal palace have been doing in the last few weeks since going in to administration, beating wolves in the FA CUP and a great result the weekend away to scunthorpe. i believe if we get a buyer soon enough the loss of victor moses to wigan and jose fonte (baby) to southampton wont be such a big loss and we might be able to push again next season.

cmon you EAGLESSSSSSSSSSSSS!! smile

Re: The Football thread

I know...about 800 replies on the Palace forum so far, in less than a day. Virtually everyone, barring one or two random delusionals, knows it won't happen.

But it's all over t'interweb, so at least gets Palace some publicity when we really need it. It's no fun watching your beloved sink ungracefully from afar without being able to go and help by going to the games. sad

Re: The Football thread

The penalty awarded to ManU against Liverpool today is one of the softest I've seen for a while.  There was contact between Mescherano and Valencia outside the area, but this was broken before Valencia stumbled over his boot laces as he raced in!  Clearly the referee thought differently.

Re: The Football thread

If only.

I'll be watching it at 10pm live here on Sunday evening. Squeaky bum time for all Palace fans, and even more so as after tomorrow the money runs out. No more. Nada. No longer in existence unless a player is sold to pay for stuff. Etc etc.

I take it you're going?...

A beer? You'll need 10... I've had a couple this afternoon after a game of golf. Sing up for me!!

We love you, we love you, we love you
And where you play we follow, we follow, we follow,
Because we are the Palace, the Palace, the Palace,
And that's the way we like it, we like it, we like it.
Whoooaaaaah!!!!

Now, more than ever before:

COME ON PALACE!!!

Re: The Football thread

I'm knackered this morning - the games were at midnight and 4.30am for me, but have to be watched. Disappointed that Mexico equalised, although they should have been out of sight by HT, but good fin to watch the French fail to beat 10 men. Was Govou's miss in the 3rd minute already the winner of worst miss of the tournament?

Well predicted, btw Bernd!

Re: The Football thread

Hmm...hate to say I told you so...

Thing is, down here when people ask how I think England will do I've been telling them we won't get further than the quarter finals, and the main reason is because we don't have a top goalkeeper, one who'll pull out saves from nowhere when you're 1-0 up in a knockout match. What I didn't expect was that from Green. I swore at him severely last night, I expect I wasn't alone.

Re: The Football thread

LOL, you sound like the Eurovision jury... lol

I'll go for:

Algeria - Slovenia 0:1
Serbia - Ghana 1:2
Germany - Australia 2:0 (they will go BONKERS down here if they get a result...there was a crowd of over 20,000 gathered at Darling Harbour in Sydney to watch the England game on the "World Cup Park" big screens at 4.30am last night.)
